A couple weeks ago we held a Bottled-in-Bond tasting.
The March 8th meeting/tasting of the River City Whisky Society a great turn-out with 36 folks attending. And with this meeting being so close to St. Patricks Day we went with an Irish Whiskey theme, of course. We actually took that a step further and did a comparison of finishes in Irish Whiskey.
RCWS tradition is to hold our annual Christmas Party in January. It gets us away from having to compete with company and family parties. This year we stuck with the tradition.
This past Friday was the latest meeting of the River City Whisky Society and it was a good one. We were recently contacted by Brad Duncan, the Market Manager (MO) for Midwest Grain Products (MGP), the largest distillery you have never heard of.

Our May meeting was titled, Peat & Sherry. Sherry is always sweet, but Peat can be a bit of a jerk..all bitter and such.After all, look at the photo of Peat here. It’s not pretty.
I have recently been sampling some of the un-sung heroes of the bourbon industry.
At the end of March we held our regular tasting and decided that the theme would be Campbeltown Malts.
The November tasting of the River City Whisky Society was a really good one. Ralph Haynes, of Pinckney Bend Distillery in New Haven (MO), came by with several of their expressions for us to try.
Just last week the River City Whisky Society met for a Lowland Scotch tasting.
