Actually, we never left. We (I) just quit posting our meetings/tastings/events. Why? In a word…lazy.
But I am back at it and I plan to keep this web site up to date. Well, at least until I get lazy again.
Like years past, we began 2024 with a bang. Five new members and one heck of a Christmas Party. Yes, we have our annual Christmas Party in January. Doing this in January helps us avoid all the parties in December and kicks off our new year.
Due to the cold weather and the threat of white flakes falling from the sky, we only had about 85 attendees. But it was a great time. 60-ish different whiskies and a bunch of food. We also gave out the annual Christmas gift to our members. This year it was a ceramic car coaster with the RCWS logo. Come to find out, lots of people do not know what a ceramic car coaster is. For those still asking, you place them in your cup holders and they absorb the moisture that comes off your cup. I think they are awesome gifts but maybe the socks with the logo would have been better.
We want to give a big Thank You to the St Louis County Police Association for loaning us their facility. It is a fantastic facility and we were able to raise $625 for their charity, Need of Aid. Thank you to the attendees who donated as well!
We are looking forward to a great 2024!
