Maker’s Mark is coming out with a new bourbon. It is so new that is does not even have a name yet. Actually it’s not a NEW bourbon…it is a different finish on their current bourbon.
John Hansell, on his blog “What Does John Know?”, put it like this: Basically, they are taking Regular Maker’s Mark out of the barrels and into the receiving tank like they would normally do. But instead of sending the whiskey to the bottling line, they insert toasted oak staves into the original barrels and then put the bourbon back into the barrel for several months of additional aging.
I wonder if I can get them to send me a sample?
