Bulleit Bourbon was introduced in 1999 and maintains a growing fan base. It’s most recent introduction, Bulleit Rye, has the taste to follow in those footsteps.
The bourbon has a mash bill with 28% rye, one of the highest in the bourbon industry. The new rye, which came out the first of March, has 95% rye.
Robert, River City Whisky Society Member #8, bought a bottle right away and wrote the following:
“It has 95% rye and 5% malted barley. With this ratio you would think it would be overbearing rye. It is not. It does have a hint of cherry, and carmel smell. One of the nicest ryes I have drank. Very smooth, but it does not have that real sweet taste you get from bourbon. I am still a bourbon man, but this is a good rye. I paid $29 at Friar Tucks (St. Louis, MO).”
Thansk, Robert.
