Christmas Promise, and another good dram

Posted by on December 25, 2010

Okay, so it’s been a while since we posted. The promise is to make this a more active site for out loyal readers. Both of them.

Anyway, I was given three different bottle for Christmas. (I love my family). The first is a Macallan 16 year old Single Malt Scotch bottled for Costco under the Kirkland brand. The second is Michael Collins, a blended Irish whiskey and finally the Famous Grouse, one of the most popular blended scotchs in Scotland.

As I type I am sipping a dram of the Famous Grouse. The is a very inexpensive bottle, about $25, and I can see why it is so popular. It is named after the country’s national bird, the Red Grouse. The whisky is a blend a several really good brands such as Macallan and Higland Park.

The taste has a light, sweet taste and a nicely warm finish. I will definitely keep a bottle on hand. And I recommend you do the same.

Merry Christmas

Doug
